We are Learning About Space

Today we are continuing to learn and explore the facts about the planets within the solar system. MS Alice and the children were looking at the planets hanging from  the classroom ceiling and discussing the facts about the planets as well as the similarities and differences. Freya has extended upon her interest by sorting the planets into different colour categories. Ayla and Freya have created artistic planet pictures. Ayla is painting a picture of the planet Pluto using cotton tips while Freya is stamping pictures of planets using paper roll cylinders. MS Nerissa and the children went on to discuss the different letters sounds that the names of the planets begin with. Verity has learnt that the  planet Venus begins with the first letter of her name. Jackson has recognised that the planet Jupiter begins with the same letter that he name begins with. As a follow up activity to this Jackson and Georgie are using the moving alphabet box to form the words earth and sun.

NQF  OUTCOME: Element 2.2.1: Healthy eating is promoted and food and drinks provided by the service are nutritious and appropriate for each child.
