Quality Area 1.1.1: Curriculum decision making contributes to each child’s learning and development outcomes in relation to their identity, connection with community, wellbeing, and confidence as learners and effectiveness as communicators. (NQF)

Throughout our emergent project about rocks and minerals we have learnt about the location and process of mining the rocks and minerals; what types of heavy machinery are used to mine the rocks and minerals and the purpose and use of the rocks and minerals. Last Friday Ms Nerissa and Ms Bernadette had typed the first edition of our newsletter for the year, which contained information about this project. Jackson and his family had read the newsletter which lead Jackson and his dad Chris to further explore their interest in rocks. Yesterday Chris and Jackson went to the a quarry where they had discovered volcanic rocks. Chris and Jackson collected a few samples and Jackson brought them in today for show-n-tell, which lead to his friends exploring their interests in rocks.
