Project: The Work of a Scientist

Topic of discussion today was the profession of a Scientist. We discussed that scientists are people who explore and investigate different things in our environment. Today our investigation is focused on coloured water. This investigation entailed mixing different coloured water together to find out whether or not the water will remain the same colour or change colour. Jackson mixed three parts green water and one part red water. When Ms Nerissa what colour is the water, Jackson said “It is still green.” Then Ms Nerissa asked Jackson “Is it the same colour green that you used to mix or is it a different shade of green?” Jackson responded by saying “It’s a different green,” Ms Nerissa then asked Jackson “Is it darker or lighter?” Jackson said “It’s lighters.” Summer, Atticus, Tyson and Zoe were showing further interest as they investigated the water on the science table.
