Living on Earth

MS Alice’s group time took a different approach today to the children’s learning. She has been discussing the possibility of life on planet earth. She explained that only planet earth has air, oxygen and water and the other planets don’t. Ms Alice then showed the children a science experiment of  one flower sitting in a pot of clear water and the other flower sitting in a pot of blue water. The children were able to see that when the flower in the blue water drinks that water it travels through the veins of the flower. Also a combination of air and oxygen that is found on planet earth also contributes to life. When MS Alice was showing the children a picture of planet earth, David walked across to the toy shelf and pointed to the globe and said ‘Earth’.
