RESOURCES: Pencils, paper, clipboards and books.

 

PRIOR KNOWLEDGE: Using our prior knowledge about the alphabet and extending this knowledge. The children have prior knowledge of letter recognition & sound recognition, pre-writing, sequencing and shapes.

 

EXPERINCE: The project interest tables were set out to cater for literacy learning and knowledge building. Four activities were placed on each tray with a different literacy skill building activity. Project table one was set out for pre-literacy building skills such as shape recognition and sequencing patterns. Project table 2 was set out for the three, four and five year old age group. These table activities were focusing on pre-writing patterns, word formations, and stencil tracing to ensure correct pencil grip.
