Cheerful & Adventurous Day

During our cheerful and adventurous day at Kidscape Ms Nerissa had set out practical activities for us outside. There were three activities in total and one was scooping water from the big cup to the small cup with a spoon. Next was pouring water from the water bottle to the two cups and only fill as far as the orange lines on the cups. And the third activity was rolling the coloured paper and placing it into the cup. Torfinn and Niamh were challenged with the water pouring and loved it! Mickey liked the paper rolling – but it was tricky getting it into the cups. Today the older children really enjoyed learning about three letter phonetics. They learnt cat, hat, mat, nat, rat, sat. we traced over the letters with our writing finger and sounded out the letter with our strong voice. Thank you to Eliana for bringing in her special encyclopaedia book and DVD on the ocean- our unit of interest this month. We learnt lots of facts about the different sea animals from Ms Bernadette reading the book to us.
